David Maisel's "Lake Project" series is so otherworldly, the images might have been shot on another planet. But these surreal aerial shots are from outside Los Angeles - the result of years of diverting water to the ever-growing west coast city, "generating a thriving agricultural industry and an environmental disaster in the process".
