Personal work – it’s what Creative and Art Directors want to see most in any photographer’s portfolio. Nothing communicates the soul of a photographer quite as clearly and quickly as images created by a photographer on their own time. These are the images that photographers make with out additional influences - and in doing so, the resulting images become more purely their own.
APA Los Angeles – otherwise known as American Photographic Artists – has put together a curated collection of photography to be exhibited at prestigious agencies such as TBWA\Chiat\Day, Ignited, and Deutsch. If you are not lucky enough to to be at one of these agencies, for one night only you can come out for the show’s reception and see the work yourself displayed at Helms Bakery.
RECEPTION:
Saturday, April 26,
7-10pm
Helms Bakery Building
Washington Corridor
8723 Washington Blvd
Culver City 90232
This year over 1,100 entries were distilled into 100 selects by this year’s guest curator, Britt Salvesen, Curator and Head of Wallis Annenberg Photography Department at LACMA. While the selected works are still under wraps until the reception Saturday, you can enjoy a small selection here from the 2013 Off The Clock show. Next week a link to this year’s winners will be available.
